Vibratory deburring

Vibratory deburring

Deburring is a technique where material is removed from the edges and corners of an object so that they become rounded. Deburring can be used to make the surface safer, for example by removing sharp edges, or to improve the aesthetics of the object.

At Ollerup Maskinfabrik, we use a modern Rösler system, which consists of a vibratory deburring machine and a vibratory dryer. The vibratory deburring machine handles workpieces up to 250 x 200 mm with a plate thickness of up to 10 mm. After deburring, the workpieces are dried in the vibratory dryer, and oil is applied to protect against rust and ensure that the customer receives a high-quality and long-lasting product.

Our Rösler system consists of a vibratory deburring machine and a vibration dryer. The vibratory deburring machine is used to remove material such as burrs or sharp edges. We can handle workpieces up to 250 mm x 200 mm and a plate thickness of 10 mm.

The vibration dryer is used after the vibratory deburring machine to dry the workpieces so that they can subsequently be treated with oil. The oil helps prevent the workpieces from rusting, ensuring that the customer receives a neat product.

What is vibratory deburring?

Vibratory deburring is an effective method for removing burrs and sharp edges from metal workpieces while improving the surface finish. The technique uses a vibratory system where the workpieces rotate in a bowl filled with abrasive media, resulting in uniform and even deburring. This ensures both a better-looking surface and increased safety, as sharp edges are removed.

The technique behind deburring

Surface grinding and deburring are two techniques used to process the surfaces of materials so that they become smooth and uniform. Surface grinding and deburring are especially relevant within the metal industry.

Defoliation is important for several reasons:

  • To avoid injuries or cuts from sharp edges

  • To achieve a neater and more uniform result

  • To ensure better adhesion of paint, varnish or other surface treatments

  • To improve the fit and functionality of the item

Vibratory deburring is a mechanical process where workpieces and abrasive media are placed in a vibratory bowl. Through vibrations, burrs and edges are removed uniformly and effectively on all workpieces simultaneously. This is particularly well-suited for larger batches where consistent quality and rapid processing are important.

Deburring can be performed on most metals, including steel, aluminium, and brass. The precise method is chosen based on the material's properties and the desired outcome.

At Ollerup Maskinfabrik, we can process workpieces up to 250 x 200 mm with a plate thickness of up to 10 mm.
