Sawing

At Ollerup Maskinfabrik, we offer everything from manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic sawing.

We have a fully automatic saw that can cut up to Ø 260 mm in diameter in steel and stainless steel.

The machine is blade-monitored, and the precision is enhanced through monitoring, while the machine simultaneously observes the process during operation.

What is sawing?

Sawing is used to cut, for example, metal to the correct size, with a specific length or width.

Manual sanding

Our Kasto semi-automatic mitre saw can cut at 90 degrees, Ø350mm and can cut at a mitre in both directions up to 60 degrees. Therefore, the material can be cut to the length requested by the customer, as well as whether it should have mitred ends or not.

Fully automatic sawing

Our fully automatic saw has computer control, where material, quality and the length of the workpiece are entered. The computer then controls the feed rate, blade pressure and blade speed. Our Kasto automatic saw, with precise clamp feed and automatic zero-point detection, is a true production machine.

In addition to the above-mentioned functions, the saw has blade monitoring that stops the saw if the machine detects that the workpiece is out of angle and therefore outside the specified tolerance.

The automatic saw can cut workpieces at 90 degrees and up to Ø 240 mm.

Semi-automatic sawing

Our newest semi-automatic circular saw for saws – Eiselde with Ø400 saw blade, saws with feed and automatically returns after sawing is completed.

We can mitre in both directions and up to 60 degrees. This type of saw is used if the workpieces need to be very precise and will later be TIG welded together.

In addition to the chamfer function, square tubes with a measurement ratio of 120x120mm, for example, can be cut at 90 degrees.

Sawing questions:

Metal sawing is a process where metal pieces are cut with a saw – typically a band saw or circular saw – to achieve precise lengths or divisions. It is often used for cutting pipes, rods, profiles, and solid workpieces where precision and straight cuts are important.

We saw in stainless steel, mild steel and other metals such as aluminium and brass. Our machinery is suitable for both soft and hard metals in various dimensions.

We use precise industrial saws, typically bandsaws with automatic feeding. This ensures cuts with minimal burrs and high consistency – even in batches. Deviations are typically kept within a few tenths of a millimetre.

Yes, our equipment is optimised for both single-piece production and larger batches. We have the capacity to process large workpieces and long rods with high repeat accuracy.

Sawing is ideal when processing massive workpieces, pipes or profiles with high precision and neat cut surfaces. It is often the first step in further processing, such as turning or milling.
